Here at the Country Stampede Festival in Manhattan, KS. Severe thunder storms called for throughout the day after being shut down yesterday. I totally wanted to see Charlie Daniels. Oh well.

San diego is an amazing city. Tonight I am playing Anthology downtown with Transfer. Finishing soundcheck I wrapped up the loose cables and felt blessed. I have good friends, a beautiful woman and the chance to work with a band that challenges me to be as excellent as they are. I am truly blessed………

Working on what portions of the set list I have for Friday but I am sitting on the 405 of computer processing at the moment. It goes to show me that I should wait until the end of the day to start prepping for practice. Only a few know the actual boring ass work that goes into this. Shooting is fun. Editing is fun. Practicing is fun. Prepping and processing suck ass!!!!

Its worth it to play though.

So yes, I finally designed a business card to go along with my visual
side of things. Let me know what you think out there.

Worked on a new sequence for “Sinking Sailing” by Transfer tonight.
Never really had a locked number for this piece but tonight I
stumbled onto playing with shapes. It was an idea I had stemming from
a Sea of Cortez song that I don’t see them playing anytime soon.
Those bastards know which one it is because I have begged them to
play it. Punks. Anyway, got to working with very basic shapes and
random movement to fill the canvas. Red, white, black and some subtle
shades of grey make up the entire piece and it is only comprised of
three clips. I may revisit and see if a forth is needed for one small
change in the song. The black will most likely be keyed out in favor
of black and white camera capture. Regardless, it works either way
you cut it to the song. The picture is just a quick example of what I
am working with. Ignore the tell tale green FCP lines. They are just
there to show off my sassoon skill.
I don’t have Transfers set list as of yet but I hope that they can
get it over to me by tomorrow. Don’t know how I am going to get this
stuff done in time as I have to program the featured content and also
work with setting up the 2nd VJ on this one. Rookie DM will be
utilizing a second setup to project the ambients and I will mix him
into the main. Don’t know if DJ Gabe Vega is going to be at this one.
Thought it was the rumor. We shall see.

Tonight at Mr.T’s Bowl – Sea of Cortez is playing. You may know them
as the band I randomly write about and aledgedly have a visual
project in the works with. The update – the studio is touches away
from being completely and now all I have to do is set up the
projector and I am ready to rock! Great creative space. Will post
pictures soon. Update two – I am actually gleaning images and motion
for SoC.

Many of you may know or not but recently I robbed Philadelphia of one amazing lady and long time Trocadero Theater employee – MA2. She is in Los Angeles know but I wanted to give props to the city that provided me one hell of a woman with a dig of an artist that is doing some pretty amazing things.
